About the Site

My Community Made is a platform that connects local artisans with customers. We built, own and manage My Community Made.

My Community Made utilizes a fully custom WordPress theme and the Dokan Multivendor Marketplace plugin to allow the site to function as a multi-vendor marketplace.

The site allows artists to create their own storefront and upload products. Customers can browse the store and purchase products from these vendors.

As customers add products to their cart, estimated shipping prices are automatically generated, using the USPS Postage API. This ensures vendors get paid what it will cost to send their product to the customer.

When a product is purchased, Stripe handles the payment processing and splits the payment between all vendors included on an order as well as collecting the sales tax associated with the vendors state whose product was purchased.

To increase traffic, the site also boasts an integration with Google Shopping via the Google Merchant Center.

In addition to these above features, we have also built
